Cycling in the Dedduwa Backwaters
The South of Sri Lanka is diverse and is teeming with nature, beautiful landscapes, serene beaches, rich village life and culture. The best way for you to witness these vibrant characteristics of the South is by bike. Today we explore the hidden backwaters of the Dedduwa lake by bike.
You will meet your cycling guide by a lake front, where you will be served with king coconut and briefed on the journey ahead. Then we start the ride on a hidden footpath with the lake on one side and marshy swamp land on the other. In the early morning and late evenings there is a good chance of you spotting a wide variety of birds. The area is also teaming with amphibians and reptilians. On route you will also witness typical village life of the South. At the end of the ride, you will be served cold cut fruits and ice cream.
